Obamamessiah country... hope and change.. hope and change.
You have a better chance surviving a tour in Iraq, than you do walking the streets of Detroit, and that's just sad.
** UPDATE **
So NY Nerd wants me to do math, and here it is.
Currently there are 158,000 Military personnel and another 50,000 Non-Military Personnell, which leaves Iraq with 208,000 Americans, on par with The following cities.
Mobile, AL - 250,000

Detroit: 4.5 million
Baltimore: 7.6 million
New Orleans: 454,863
Newark: 2.1 million
Should I go on?
Also - 208,000 is still considerably less than 250,000 and 253,000 & since you haven't supplied the number of murders in those cities during the comparable period, you can't calculate the per capita murder rate and you can't even see if you're right about those two cities.
For the record - 6.73% chance of being shot in Iraq, based on the numbers you provided. That's pretty fucking high, by any measure.
And what exactly is your point? That it's SAFE in Iraq for soldiers (or Americans)? It's not. You can argue that it's a danger that we have to deal with based on our goals there, but you cannot argue that it's safe.
